Okay Okay, First off thank you to everyone from our family, friends, and Soul-House…(which I guess goes under friends, but I felt you deserved your own special category). You all have been extremely helpful in making this transition to parent hood as managable as possible.
Now that I have offended someone…I posted more pictures of Brendan. For those who didn’t notice, I had already posted christmas photos but forgot to make a post. We hope you enjoy all the new photos and as you will probably notice, Jeni did a whole photo shoot with Brendan in his gator outfit on game day. As you can imagine Jeni was thrilled at the outcome and Brendan was just sad the Knights are no good ;-).
To appease the crowd, I have uploaded pictures of Brendan. If you click on the Photos – Pregnancy section to the right it will take you right to them.
On December 18, 2006 at 4:23pm Eastern Standard Time, Brendan Casey Roop was born 7lbs 8oz, 20.5 inches at Winnie Palmer Hospital.
Congrats to JT you were right on on weight and day. Everyone was hovering around the weight, and my mom (Meg Johnson) was closes on the hours to medication. Jeni went just about 11 hours (because that is how long it took to get admitted). I have to go help with the baby, but I will have pictures posted some time today. And we will do the last Count Down to Brendan podcast within the next day or two.
Thanks everyone for all your support up till this point.
Sorry we haven’t blogged in awhile. Jeni ad I have been busy trying to get everything ready. We believe she is having braxton (sp?) hicks contractions now. So it shouldnt be too much longer. Assuming e aren’t at the hospital we plan on doing another pdcast tomorrow night.
This morning I came across an article that spoke to me on a few different levels. The first level was, wow, he doesn’t seem to mind using curse words in his writing. Second, I wish I had done the same just two days ago when I saw a crazy lazy chewing out a cashier at Target. And lastly the one that hit home the most. And I quote:
And while I was pleased to learn that this particular manager wasn’t going to fire the new girl based on the whim of some fat ass piece of trailer trash, I was disappointed that he rewarded said trash’s temper tantrum with free food. I long for the day a manager walks up to a table and says, “How dare you treat my employee this way. Get out now.”
This hit home because I remember a time when I was working at Spencer Gifts back in Leesburg when my manager did just that. I had a customer who was asking for one of those stupid dog puppets from pets.com and we had put them into storage for the season. I was told by my management that I was not allowed to sell anything that was in the back room because it was so busy in the store. The customer was furious when I told him that I wasn’t allowed to go get the puppet, and my manager over hearing said customer chew me out, basically told the man to get out of the store and stop harassing me. So John if you are out there, thanks for being such a good guy.
Recently I have become overwhelmed by the hatred for anyone who has any religious affiliation on the internet. Or atleast on the websites that I frequent like digg.com. However this morning I saw a refreshing link on the homepage none the less. It is a parady of the Get A Mac commercials put out by Apple. They are a little longer than there apple counterparts but send an interesting message. When I saw it I immediately thought of my good friend Steve. I included one below and if you want to see all check out this link to youtube. Thanks to Think Christian for putting these up.
Joyce showed me this today, and I am inspired. Hopefully I won’t push Brendan too hard to be like this.
Hello everyone. After many hours of hard labor, and then deciding to throw out all my work and just hack something together. I present to you the Baby Pool. All those programmers that read this will cry as they look at this and see what I may or may not have done. Basically I copied and pasted alot of stuff instead of actually making it part of the wordpress blog I use.
To those of you who the previous paragraph was jiberish….Enjoy the Pool. It is just for fun, we are not doing any money stuff, but enjoy. I have put my guess down.
This past weekend Jeni and I went back to thanksgiving with my leesburg family and her family. It went really well thanks to the hard work of all the moms putting together very tasty dishes. Check out my flickr page to see the pictures. We also took some pictures of preggers (thanks for the nickname Russ). So be sure to click on the pregnancy link in the menu.
Also for those who look forward to hearing the heavenly sound of jeni and my voice. We still haven’t recorded an episode of “Countdown to Brendan”, but we plan on doing it in the next two days so check back often.
Happy Thanksgiving to all
