About twenty minutes ago I remebered to look up a question we had a lunch. At lunch we were all stumped about whether the Hulk’s name was David Banner or Bruce Banner. After a little research I am still confused, but I understand why we were unable to answer this question. Depending on the series you read/watch you will get a different answer. It seems that the comic books were Dr. Robert Bruce Banner, hence Bruce Banner. The TV show from the 70s he was Dr. David Bruce Banner. In the movie released by Universal in 2003 he was Bruce Banner and his father was David Banner. So as you can see Bruce Banner and the Hulk are the most common elements. So I conclude that his name is Bruce Banner and David just snuck in there somehow.
In doing this reasearch I found out some stuff I did not know about the Hulk.
1. The Hulk was originally gray.
2. The Hulk has many origin stories (almost always involing radation)
3. The Hulk has 3+ versions
– Savage Hulk – Green Hulk (the hulk we all know and love)
– Joe Fix-it – Gray Hulk (a night hulk that is less violent, less strong, and more logical)
– Merged Hulk – A Green/Gray Combo (strong, and smart and green, with good hair)
4. He has been apart of many super groups good and bad (see Dark Horseman)
5. He has cosmic powers, but it is limited (not as strong as the Pheonix)
Anyways, it was fun reading up on a well known comic character and learning so much I didn’t know. If you want to look it up as well check out the wikipedia entry.
